India is a totally different place compared to other countries. The construction sites differ greatly from location to location. There are a lot of explanations and observations to this phenomenon. Relatively less developed condition, low education level, differences in culture and value, lack of exposure to the outside world, poor social security, etc. I am not going to linger on this here. In this photo essay, I have tried to capture different and interesting moments of the 'ghosts' (the construction workers) of our profession.

Reality may not be at all pretty but this is the kind of life millions of people live in India - sometimes just a few hours away from us.  A few images from a construction site in Chennai (2012)
